HOW-TO“REVISIONAL JURISDICTION”
Researching by issue, not by case name
Write the question the way you would ask a senior, then narrow it with filters.

A how-to shows how to get something done in WritOnline.
Most judgments are found by remembering a case name. The better habit is to start from the question you need answered.
A routine that works
- Write the issue as a sentence: When can the High Court interfere in a revision against a Small Cause Court decree?
- Run the search and read the summary of the first few results. The passage that answers your question is shown with its paragraph.
- Refine with a court, a year range or a bench if there are too many results.
- Open the judgment and read the cited passage in full before you rely on it. The summary tells you where to look, not what to quote.
This is practice guidance for advocates, not legal advice. Rules and notices change: check the current rule or notice of the court before you file.
